What are your favorite childhood memories? I’ll bet they didn’t center around toys as much as they did around the people you had those experiences with. As a mom, I’m constantly thinking about how my kids are going to grow up. What will they be like? Will they be good men? What can I do now that will help them be that way when they are out of my house hopefully with families and friends of their own?
I really think one of those things we can do is to have experiences with our kids, but its not about the experience its about spending time with us, the parents. Do you tend to overthink it? Kids love simple. Do you think you don’t have time? You’ll have more time when they leave to do all the things you want to do. Don’t have the money? Kids don’t care how expensive it is!
So go grab a $2 bag of marshmallows, let your kid stay up past their bedtime, find a stick and roast some marshmallows. You won’t regret it. And even if you do, maybe your kid will consider it a cherished memory. So ya know, still worth it.
